Road safety test

When the driver accumulates 12 demerit points, the driver receives a notice of the obligation to pass a road safety test within a specified period and to take a driving skills test.

The tests must be passed within 6 months of notification. If the tests are passed, the number of points is reduced by 2 points. If this is not done within the set deadline, the number of demerit points is increased by 2 points. Tests can be taken at one of the CSDD customer service centers, where driver licencing services are provided.

The requirement to pass the above-mentioned test and skill test does not apply to drivers who have accumulated 12 points and who, in accordance with regulatory enactments, must pass driving test to renew the licence. The number of accumulated points registered for these drivers after passing the test for renewal of driving licence shall be reduced by 2 points.
