Renewal of a licence revoked for demerit points

To renew a driving licence following a ban on the use of driving licences under the demerit point system, a category B theoretical and driving test must be passed. In turn, if only category AM, A1, A2, A or B1 is marked on the driving licence, the person must pass the theoretical and driving test corresponding to the respective category, but if only the TRAM or TROL category is marked on the driving licence, the person must take the theoretical test corresponding to the relevant category.

If, within the framework of the demerit point system, a ban on driving has been applied to a person 2 times over a period of 10 years, the person shall lose the right to drive a vehicle. In this case, driving licence may be received no earlier than after 5 years and in order to regain it, all activities related to the first acquisition of driving licence (training at a driving school, medical examination, testing at the CSDD) must be performed.

The tests can be taken in one of the CSDD customer service centers, where driver licencing services are provided. A driving permit must be obtained before taking the driving test.
