Change of bodywork
General procedure for the change of the bodywork (cabin)
- Before actual modification the vehicle must be presented at roadworthiness testing station and endorsement obtained for this technical modification. The change of the bodywork is not endorsed in the following cases:
- for the purpose of obtaining the approval for the technical modification the vehicle is not presented fully equipped (no engine, gearbox, suspension, braking system, steering equipment);
- the vehicle and/or parts thereof presented for the purpose of obtaining the approval for the technical modification are so deformed or damaged that, having only the bodywork changed, the vehicle is not usable.
- The technical modification must be carried out in compliance with modification rules.
- The vehicle must be presented for the technical expertise as following the technical modification of category one at any roadworthiness testing station suitable for the given category of vehicle.
- Having received endorsement of the technical expertise, the owner (holder) of the vehicle no later than within 5 days applies for the registration of this technical modification at any of CSDD Service centres
Bodywork may be changed only for the bodywork of the same vehicle make and model, and kind of the bodywork. Documents supporting ownership of the installed bodywork (cabin) must be presented for the purpose of registration of the technical modification.
