Obtaining permits to accept end-of-life vehicles for treatment
In order to become a treatment company and accept end-of-life vehicles for treatment, a merchant must obtain a permit as specified in the laws and regulations governing the end-of-life vehicle treatment and environmental requirements for treatment companies, or submit an application to engage in the polluting activities in question.
For more details, call the State Environmental Service: 67084200.
The State Environmental Service informs CSDD of treatment companies that have been permitted treat end-of-life vehicles.
In order to facilitate the pick-up of end-of-life vehicles, a treatment company may conclude a contract for the acceptance of end-of-life vehicles with the owner of an end-of-life vehicle pick-up point who has a permit referred to in the laws and regulations governing the end-of-life vehicle treatment and environmental requirements for treatment companies, or a permit to pick up, transport, tranship, sort, or store waste, and to use end-of-life vehicle pick-up points owned by the treatment company.
After obtaining the permit, the treatment company must conclude an agreement for the use of the Register of End-of-Life Vehicle Disposal Certificates (EVDC) with CSDD. A model cooperation agreement form is available here (the model agreement is for information only, demonstrating the details to be included in the agreement; the official cooperation agreement to be signed will be sent once the cooperation agreement application is received).
In order to begin using the EVDC register, the treatment company must e-mail its application to the CSDD Registration Division, rd@csdd.gov.lv (see below). Having received the application, CSDD informs the treatment company of the further steps to be taken in relation to the conclusion of the agreement and the granting of the permission to use the EVDC register.
