Installation of number plates

Motor vehicles must have two national registration plates, and trailers, motorcycles, tricycles, quadricycles and mopeds for which the manufacturer intends to affix only one registration plate must bear one registration plate.

The number plates must be mounted on the vehicle in a vertical position, centered perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, unless another location is provided by the vehicle manufacturer.

The type of license plate to be issued for each vehicle and the series of state registration number shall be determined by the CSDD in accordance with the standard LVS 20: 2009 "State registration plates of vehicles" and description of license plates, taking into account vehicle design features (more: "Number plate types").
