Necessary documents
- Vehicle registration certificate;
- if one of the two number plates is lost, the remaining number plate must be handed over;
- a police certificate regarding the fact of the theft of the number plate. The certificate does not need to be submitted if the national registration number is changed. A number plate (s) is issued at the place of loss or information has been provided to the police and information thereon is available in the State Register of Vehicles and their Drivers;
- passport or ID card of the person submitting the documents. A driver's license issued by the CSDD may be presented if the Population Register contains information of a valid passport or ID card.
In addition, if the vehicle is removed from the register, the vehicle must be presented for vehicle data verification.
Registration can be done by:
- the owner (possessor) of the vehicle or his/her authorised person (see Persons who may register a vehicle) in all cases, presenting the passport or ID card of the person. A driver’s document issued by CSDD can be presented if the Register of Population contains information about a valid passport or ID card of the person.
- any adult person, if the vehicle is registered.
