Recreational craft licence exchange

A recreational craft certificate issued in Latvia must be exchanged if:

the licence has expired or is about to expire;
personal data, such as name, surname and / or personal identification number have changed. In this case, the exchange of licence must be done within 30 days;
the licence is damaged;

If a person wishes, the licence can also be exchanged without a special reason.

The driving licence of a recreational craft shall be exchanged for a person whose normal residence is in Latvia. The licence issued in Latvia is exchanged at the CSDD customer service centers, where driver licencing services are provided. No prior appointment is required for the visit.

There is no need to take tests to exchange a licence! CSDD does not apply a fine for the fact that the exchange of a driving licence is performed after the term specified therein. However, driving is not allowed during this time - the police are entitled to impose a fine.

Necessary documents:

identity document - passport, personal identification (ID) card, driving licence, driving licence of a recreational vessel or small vessel, driving permit; An identity document does not have to be presented if the document issued by the CSDD is exchanged;
exchangeable driving licence;
medical examination for drivers of vehicles (medical statement). The person can check its validity in the e-CSDD or in person at the CSDD. The medical examination may be performed at a general practitioner or with medical commissions established in medical institutions;
