Deregistration of a vessel for the change of ownership in Latvia at customer service center

General information

If the vessel is intended to be alienated to another person in Latvia, it must be removed from the register for alienation in Latvia.

Vessel can be alienated after the time limit indicated on the registration certificate expires but to use it in water traffic the vessel must be reregistered. Information on the term during which it is allowed to participate in traffic is available to the vessel owner via the e-CSDD or via the application, but to all persons via SMS or pay phone (see the section " Vehicle information ").

It is prohibited to export a vessel that has been removed from the register for alienation in Latvia. In order to export such a vessel from Latvia, it is necessary to remove it from the register for export from Latvia

If the vessel is intended to be exported from Latvia for re-registration or alienation in another country, it must be removed from the register for export from Latvia.
