Roadworthiness testing of vehicles with a gas supply system
Vehicles with a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG/autogas) or liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel system are not subject to the requirement to undergo a gas tank inspection.
Cabinet Regulation 115 of 7 March 2023 abolishes the requirement for compressed natural gas (CNG) tank checks by an appropriate inspection body, enabling vehicles with a CNG supply system to pass the roadworthiness test, whereby the user of the vehicle is responsible for the technical condition of the CNG supply system and tanks, and the roadworthiness test still includes a general check and assessment of the CNG supply system.
