General information
One day permit to participate in the road traffic (hereafter - the permit) is intended to allow the owner (driver) of a vehicle to drive the vehicle having expired roadworthiness test to the roadworthiness testing station.
The permit can be obtained:
- electronically at CSDD
- at any CSDD Service Centre, where it can be obtained by an adult upon presentation of the document proving identity (passport/ID card, driver’s licence or apprentice’s licence issued by CSDD).
The permit can be issued only for vehicles registered in Latvia, as well as for vehicles deregistered for export, or for those having inactive registration in case of no roadworthiness testing or registration operation had been made during 3 years.
The permit allows to drive the given vehicle from its parking or repair location to the nearest roadworthiness testing station suitable for the given category of vehicle.
The print-out is not necessary for electronically acquired permit. Police, Customs and Border-guard officials can verify its existence in the Register of vehicles and drivers.
By obtaining the permit, the owner (driver) of the vehicle declares that the vehicle does not directly endanger traffic safety, environment, human health or lives and that the vehicle has no such defects which precludes participation in the road traffic.
The permit for a given vehicle can be obtained not more that twice in the calendar year. The permit is valid for the given date.
The permit does not allow for carriage of passengers or goods, as well as for practical driving exercises.
The permit can be obtained even though administrative fines are not paid in due time or the vehicle is not properly re-registered.
The permit can be acquired without immediate payment. In that case, the due amount will be charged together with payments for other services before they are rendered.
