Registration of changes in the technical data of a vessel

If at least one of the technical data parameters specified in the vessel registration certificate changes, the change of the vessel registration certificate must be made within 5 days from the moment of the change.

In order to participate in waterborne traffic, the vessel's engine must be specified in the vessel's registration certificate. The engine may not be listed on the vessel's registration certificate in the following cases:

  • if the engine power is less than 3.7 kW;
  • if a certificate of ownership of the vessel's engine issued by the CSDD is present (the certificate may also be issued to another person). A certificate of ownership of a vessel's engine is issued only for a outboard engine (more information: Registration of the outboard engine of the vessel in Latvia);
  • if accompanied by a registration certificate of another vessel in which the engine to be used is registered.
