Documents required
- Vehicle registration certificate and the vehicle’s national registration number plates. The plates are destroyed and the registration certificate is returned to the vehicle owner. If the vehicle has already been registered abroad, and the registration certificate and registration number plates have been handed over to the registry in that country, a document must be submitted proving that the vehicle has been registered abroad (the registration document issued in that country or its certified copy, a statement from that country’s registry, etc.). The document is not required if CSDD has access to the vehicle register of the country in question and that register contains information about the vehicle having been re-registered in that country;
- passport or ID card of the person submitting the documents. A driver document issued by CSDD can be produced if the Population Register contains information about the person’s valid passport or ID card. Deregistration can be performed by the owner of the vehicle or by their authorised representative (more: "Persons who may register a vehicle").
