Vehicle renewal via e-CSDD
A vehicle can be reregistered electronically via e-CSDD, or at any CSDD customer service centre.
A vehicle can be reregistered via e-CSDD if:
- the vehicle was deregistered after 1 January 2016 and has undergone no other operations in the register since then;
- the vehicle registration certificate has not expired;
- the vehicle has not been handed over to the Provision State Agency or, for its sale, to a dealer;
- the vehicle does not have a register entry stating that its ownership has changed;
- the vehicle registration certificate has not been lost. If the document has been lost, first renew the registration certificate to replace the lost one via e-CSDD or at a CSDD customer service centre (more: Change of registration certificate, renewal of a lost one);
- the vehicle or its owner has not been banned from engaging in the registration activity in question;
- the vehicle has been assigned VS series national number plates and has not lost its status as a historic vehicle;
- the vehicle has not been registered as an operational service vehicle;
- the vehicle is not registered in Latvia temporarily.
If the vehicle registration certificate shows different persons as its owner and holder, and the vehicle is reregistered without changing the last registered holder, this requires the holder’s consent. To obtain this consent, the vehicle owner sends the application to the holder via e-CSDD, and the holder validates it in e-CSDD. Once the consent is confirmed, the holder must pay the fees associated with the vehicle’s reregistration.
