Registration in e-CSDD

Register bicycle

Register electric scooter 

Bicycle (incl. cycle rickshaw) and electric scooter registration in e-CSDD can be done by:

  • an adult natural person registering an electric scooter in his or her possession;
  • an adult natural person by registering an electric scooter in the ownership of a minor under guardianship;
  • Representative of a legal entity - an adult natural person when registering an electric roller in the ownership of a legal entity.

The following information regarding the registered bicycle and its owner or electric scooter and its authorized user shall be indicated in the State Register of Vehicles and their Drivers:

  • electric scooter make, model. If the required make or model cannot be found in the list, information about the missing make and model is sent using the link attached to e-CSDD. The registration of an electric scooter is continued only after receiving a response from the CSDD;
  • for bicycle - manufacturer's number;
  • the maximum power of electric motors, if the bicycle or electric scooter is equipped with one or more electric motors;
  • an overview photo of the bicycle or electric scooter, a photo of the manufacturer's sticker (plate) with the frame, serial or production number assigned by the manufacturer and, if the manufacturer's number of the electric scooter is not on the manufacturer's sticker (plate), a separate photo of this number (each file format: * .jpg; * .jpeg; * .png; file size up to 15 MB);
  • date of acquisition of property rights, if registering a bicycle;
  • data of the person under guardianship (name, surname, personal identification code), if the bicycle or electric scooter is registered in the property of a minor.

When registering an electric scooter or bicycle, a registration sticker is issued. Stickers are sent to the address in Latvia specified in person's e-CSDD profile.The registration sticker will be sent by ordinary mail without insurance within two working days after payment. The specified address must have an available mailbox.

Payment for the registration of the bicycle and the electric scooter must be made on e-CSDD within 2 hours after the registration.

Electric scooter that does not have a serial or production number assigned by the manufacturer (the number on the manufacturer's sticker or plate) is impossible to register in e-CSDD.

CSDD cancels the registration of an electric scooter if, while processing an application for registration of an electric scooter, CSDD finds that:

  • the manufacturer's information about the technical data of the electric scooter is not publicly available;
  • the actual data of the electric scooter or the data specified by the manufacturer do not match those specified in the register;
  • the registered vehicle is not an electric scooter (does not meet the requirements and conditions set out in the Road Traffic Law).
