General information

Current or future vehicle owners can have their vehicles checked to confirm that they meet technical requirements. Diagnostics can be carried out at any roadworthiness testing station that is appropriate for the vehicle’s specifications. The vehicle systems tested are the same as at the roadworthiness testing:

  • braking system;
  • running gear;
  • suspension;
  • light devices;
  • exhaust.

This can be useful, for example, before buying a vehicle, before a roadworthiness test, and for finding out the assessment that will be given to the vehicle, its components, or equipment at the roadworthiness test before it takes place. After the diagnostics, a diagnostic card is issued recording the technical condition of the vehicle. The diagnostics procedure assesses the technical condition of the vehicle but is in no way associated to any extension or revocation of the roadworthiness permit (roadworthiness sticker).

If the vehicle has a valid roadworthiness test, but diagnostics reveal any incompliances or faults, existing roadworthiness test remains valid.

Prices are set by the decision of the Board.
