General information
The driving pilot test is a possibility to take the category B, BE, C and CE driving test on a trial basis. The category B driving pilot test can be taken in all 10 CSDD client service centres where driver licencing services are provided, but the BE, C and CE category skills test can be taken only in the CSDD Riga client service centre . After the pilot test, the examiner will explain the errors and inaccuracies and issue a protocol with an assessment.
As the experience of the CSDD and other countries shows, the pilot test can be useful for future drivers, as well as for experienced drivers, as well as for companies where drivers work.
Future drivers:
- can get used to the vehicle with which they will have to take the state test;
- can get acquainted with the atmosphere of the official test and the procedure for taking it, thus reducing the anxiety in order to fully demonstrate the acquired knowledge and skills.
Future drivers can apply for the driving test only after they have fully completed the training at the driving school, which has been recorded in the CSDD Register of Vehicles and their Drivers, and passed the theoretical test required for obtaining the licence.
Experienced drivers:
- who have not participated in road traffic for some time may assess their skills and knowledge before participating in road traffic independently again;
- those who drive a vehicle daily may obtain an assessment that their understanding of road traffic complies with the requirements of the road traffic regulations;
- who need to renew their driving licence may prepare for a state test.
Companies can make sure that employees have the skills and understanding of road safety both when hiring and later.
